I’ve done my degree in education and further studies in Geography and History. I did all my studies in the subject and have a passion for History . I have experience teaching this subject and would like to help others to have the same positive attitude towards it.

My favourite subject is History! I have always had a passion for the subject and I am very passionate about teaching it as well. I also achieved a very good result for this subject at the end of my schooling career.

I got 88% for History in Matric, and went on to study History at UCT, so I am well equipped with a tertiary level understanding of the subject. I am excellent ant teaching the formula behind good essay writing, exam techniques, and how to answer questions well. I am also great at helping students understand and remember concepts in the syllabus, through making links through relevant application of the syllabus to real world scenarios.

My current field of study involves an in-depth engagement with the past and its impact on the present; I've been required to develop a keen awareness of the importance of historical context. I'm actually busy writing an oral history of the emergency medical services in Johannesburg at the moment!

I have a B.Ed degree in History. I have been teaching high school history for 4 years, and I'm planning to do so for years to come. My love for history overflows, and I would like to transfer my love of it to others.

I know the curriculum well as I am studying it back to front and applying it in the schools I teach at. I am able to teach all subjects (Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Technology, English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Life Orientation and Dramatic Arts).

I have a passion for history and I feel the most confident when teaching this subject during my teaching practicals. I have experience with teacher's textbooks so I have an understanding of how the subject is tested. I love finding fun activities and ways in order to teach this subject.

I studied history up until 2nd year in university, so I have an abundance of knowledge on different historical topics. I am particularly good at essay writing skills. I obtained a distinction in matric for history.

I enjoy teaching and learning about History and I did well in High school. Throughout my University career there was a focus on History in the majority of subjects that I took. Social Anthropology, Religious studies, Philosophy and Politics all focused on history.

I am a highly qualified and experienced English Teacher with years of experience teaching a variety of ages groups in a variety of contexts. I am a dedicated teacher who has a commitment to lifelong learning. My teaching philosophy is summed up by the Maori word for learning ako, which views knowledge as a collective process: as you teach you learn, as you learn you teach. I have taught and lectured at various schools and colleges in South Korea, Oman, and South Africa. I completed a BA, an Honours in English, and an MA at Rhodes University. I also attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Education from the University of South Africa and a PGCE from the University of the Witwatersrand. I have a TEFL certificate from the Bay Language Institute, a certificate in the Strategic Implementation of ICT Integration in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, and completed my amanuensis training at the South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute.
