Hi there! My name is Josh. I am a 22 year old medical student at the University of Cape Town. I have a strong academic background with the credentials to prove it: I was Dux Scholar of my high school (Uplands College) in 2015 with an average of 89%; achieved 7 distinctions (including 95% for Mathematics, 93% for Physical Sciences and 90% for both Geography and Biology); achieved provincial colours for Maths (2014); and was named on the IEB's Commendable Achiever's List (2015). At university, I have continued to thrive academically, and I have been named on the Dean's Merit List (which is given in recognition of consistent academic excellence). I am passionate about learning new things and, during my studies at UCT, I have completed courses in Philosophy, Engineering, Biology, Economics and Accounting, however my real interests lie in the Health Sciences. I have two years of tutoring experience, having initially started tutoring orphaned children at the South African Children's Home in Cape Town. I have since gone on to tutor high school students at prestigious Cape Town schools. As a lifelong student, I am constantly investigating new methods of studying to keep things interesting and, more importantly, to make my study techniques more effective and efficient. I am a firm believer of the fact that how you learn is just as important as what you learn, and I'd love to share some of my techniques with you, should you decide to choose me as your tutor. My name is Tracy and I am a wife, mother, sister , best friend and a qualified teacher. I enjoy an active lifestyle and am a keen tennis player. I am a pre-service Mathematics and Science teacher. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Education in Maths and Science for High School phase at UNISA (University of South Africa). I believe absolutely everyone can understand Maths and Science. I want to help students learn how to learn so they can take their education into their own hands. Maths and Science have a reputation of being confusing, difficult to understand and irrelevant to our lives. I want to show you that it does not have to be so. Every “I don’t know” if an opportunity for growth academically and within yourself. If you do not understand what you do not understand I would like to help you work through the content in such a way that you can pinpoint where you are struggling with and have the tools to teach yourself. I strongly believe everyone can enjoy and be "good" at Maths and Science.
