I am currently a second year student at the University of Cape Town studying English, Economics, and French. I am a member of the Golden Key Honour Society (top 15% in my faculty) and I was on the Deans Merit List. I grew up in Cape Town, and moved to the United States when I was 14. I completed grades 9 and 10 in the United States, I received my International Baccalaureate Diploma from an overseas boarding school (grade 11&12). I currently work for UCT as a tutor in the economics department and I have experience tutoring matric core maths, maths lit, biology, and english. I am also able to tutor economics and french. My name is Taswell Solomons. I am 29 years old, residing in Cape Town, Western Cape. I completed my NSC (Grade 12) at Star International High School in 2008. Since then I've completed a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Public Administration at UCT in 2011, a Postgrad Diploma in Public Administration and Policy at UNISA in 2013, a Postgrad Diploma in Management in Information Systems at UCT in 2016, and will be starting a Bachelors of Law degree at UNISA in 2021. I have worked in various employment sectors throughout the years and have also continued to tutor mostly high school children in multiple subjects, specifically Mathematics. I enjoy tutoring both primary and high school learners and have been exposed to and dealt with an array of different student types throughout my tutoring career. With the exposure I have gained, I've been able to expand on key characteristics such as patience, empathy, understanding and care which enables me to be a great tutor. I believe tutoring should be tailored to the specific student and I have become adept in identifying the best means for a student to achieve a deep understanding of the work/subject at hand. I would also consider myself to be quite relatable and I would always ensure that the student is comfortable and confident to participate in lessons and to work towards any goals that are set.

Hey guys, I'm a easy-to-talk-to 27 year old from Cape Town. I grew up in a few different places and traveled/worked internationally for three years. My Spanish and Dutch is basic, but my English and Afrikaans is magnificent! I've taught in a few different countries including Vietnam, the Netherlands and Chile. I studied Maths and Science, but also taught English for several years. I spend all my extra time outside, surfing, running and hiking. I've got tons of energy and the one thing I can say about myself is that I'm not boring. So whatever it is we need to figure out- we will do it.
