Maths is such an important subject and it is crucial to succeed in many other subjects. I wish to help students improve their mathematical skills as I know it is something many people struggle with but can easily be improved if they receive good enough help.

I have a great passion for mathematics. It's important for me to initially determine which topics my student is struggling with and then I partner with my student to focus on the specific problem areas. Usually, I let my students practice as much as possible, in order for them to improve and reach the level they want to reach. The only way to improve math, is to DO math! Isn't it?

So many people dislike and fear Math. I like to show learners that Math is nothing to be afraid of, and help them to develop confidence and even a liking for it. I like to make Math enjoyable for learners, so they are learning even while having fun. I ensure that the foundations are laid and I will not progress to more advanced concepts until the learner is absolutely ready.

I believe I have a firm understanding on the elementary and senior levels of Mathematics. I achieved distinctions for Mathematics every year at school up until grade 10. I am great at teaching fundamental concepts.

I did very well in pure mathematics in high school and ended up with an A at the end of matric for mathematics. I also have previous experience in tutoring my peers and other learners in mathematics when i was in high school. I also did Calculus and LInear Algebra in my first year of University.

I have 6 years of experience tutoring this subject to students of all strengths. I am able to teach the material in ways that are understandable to any particular student. I have a knack for writing out drill exercises which allow the students to apply the methods to future work.

I consider myself a good fit to tutor this subject as I have achieved 87% in my mathematics matric final. I have also achieved over 70% for the National Benchmark Tests. Being in the engineering faculty, I have completed four mathematics courses, which have included topics such as calculus and linear algebra and as such I have further developed the ability to think proficiently in mathematics. In high school, I maintained the position of being a mathematics mentor. A mentor had the duty of tutoring fellow peers (in all grades) on the subject of maths. I also received three years of consistent mathematics tutoring in high-school, which further increased my passion and confidence in the subject. Throughout high-school I also partook in several mathematics olympiads, which further developed my mathematical skills. Due to the fact that I am deciding to tutor on one course (maths), I will also be able to provide complete dedication to the student for this subject.

In high school I didn't like math at first. It confused me. I learned however that I needed to go back to basics and after establishing a firm foundation I started to enjoy the subject. I had an approach and a method. I want that for you and show you that you are able to master it!

I am an experienced Foundation Phase Educator who likes to use concrete materials, while explaining mathematical concepts. I get creative while counting, manipulating numbers, completing number patterns, playing with shapes, measuring and collecting data. My learners are engaged during my lessons and we always have fun. Revision plays an important part during the learning journey and I always consolidate topics before tests.

I have a passion for Maths and problem solving. I am a very logical person and my love for Maths allowed me to achieve excellent marks. I will be able to explain mathematical concepts and help with the understanding of higher level thinking questions.
