I have a BA Counselling degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I have worked with learners from Grade 000 to Grade 8. I have a passion for helping children to reach their full potential. I especially enjoy helping those with learning difficulties, because I believe every learner has the right to the best possible education, regardless of their abilities. I never say no to a challenge and I help my learners with their own challenges. I make learning interesting and fun so that learners WANT to learn.

I am currently a substitute teacher at a local school. So far I have filled in for Grade 5 and Grade 7-12 teachers, continuing with normal class work while the teachers are absent.
I taught Maths and English second language to Foundation Phase pupils on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Maths themes included addition, subtraction, simple multiplication and division, and simple fractions. English themes included language skills and reading comprehension.
I am currently a Private Tutor operating from my home. I assist children after school with homework and with subjects they need extra help with. I have been able to help children improve their marks and increase their confidence in subjects they struggle with.
I studied for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, specializing in Intermediate Phase. Subjects included Maths Teaching, Language Teaching, Teaching Natural Sciences and Technology, and Teaching Social Sciences.
I studied Health Sciences and Social Services, specializing in Psychological Counselling. I did Education and Educational Psychology subjects as well.
So many people dislike and fear Math. I like to show learners that Math is nothing to be afraid of, and help them to develop confidence and even a liking for it. I like to make Math enjoyable for learners, so they are learning even while having fun. I ensure that the foundations are laid and I will not progress to more advanced concepts until the learner is absolutely ready.

Many learners think History is boring and unnecessary. I like to teach them that that is not the case; it can be very interesting and enlightening. Not only do we learn about things that happened in the past, but we use this knowledge to help us understand what is happening in the world around us now, and to prepare for the future.. I make History interesting and enjoyable so that learners want to learn it.
