I have a good understanding of English. I can help french students who need help learning English, I’ve had to help teach french family members English and have the patience and beginning understanding of french to help.

My working career spans the last twenty-seven years of my life, the last five years of which I spent teaching and lecturing throughout Cambodia. I have taught children from the ages of three to eighteen years old in ENGLISH, across all subjects, in the classroom. I also lectured in person at the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH EAST ASIA to fourth year students in PSYCHOLOGY, ECONOMICS, ENGLISH LITERATURE and BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS. In addition, I have taught students worldwide through online teaching as well as personally in the classroom. I am experienced in teaching both children and adults on the autistic spectrum, as well as other Mental and Physical disabilities.

I believe that learning a new language should be a fun and engaging experience; the end goal to use the language to communicate. I am a TEFL certified teacher, I also have a BA degree in Humanities as well as my PGCE in Foundation Phase. My online classes are tailored to the needs and goals of each student. I teach English through the use of songs, stories, and fun activities. Building confidence is my number one goal, so I give the student as many opportunities to talk as possible while providing lots of praise and encouragement!

I have completed my TEFL degree so I have learned all the basics in teaching english to students who are just starting out with the basics of the english language. Patience and constant repetition is very important for this to help students gain confidence in speaking and understanding english.

I have taught English as a foreign language for many years. I completed a TEFL certificate and taught English in Thailand for a bout a year. Since then, I have continued TEFL classes, as a private tutor, and online to students from all over the world.

I am a native English speaker and South African National. I moved to England in 2005 and lived there for a total of ten years. My schooling was almost all in the UK. As a native English Speaker and someone who has lived in two English speaking countries, I have a broad understanding of the language. In school I always did well in English Language and English literature because of my understanding of my native tongue. I have met people from a variety of countries and thrive to understand people of different nationalities and cultures. English is such a useful language in the year 2021, and I would love to share my knowledge with others.

I have studied Foundation Phase Teaching for the past 4 years and know how to Scaffold and build on a learners knowledge in understanding the English language. I know how I would conduct a lesson and what I would need to integrate in order to ensure learning and understanding takes place. I pride myself in having patience when it comes to helping and facilitating learning. As said above, I thoroughly enjoy teaching and learning about the English language as it has always been a strong point for me in all fields on study.

During my teaching career I taught mostly all subject areas using English as the language of instruction. Although I am a native Afrikaans speaking person, my knowledge and pronunciation of English is excellent. I was educated in an English school (Renish, Stellenbosch). I was a supervisor and lecturer for the ACE-schools (School of Tomorrow) that also has a home school division and the language of instruction was English.
