I have a Bachelor's degree from UCT, with majors in English Literature and Psychology. During my studies at UCT I received a Golden Key award for outstanding academic performance. I went on to complete an Honour's degree in Clinical Psychology through UNISA. I also completed a TESOL certificate with 100hrs theory and 50hrs practical. I have taught In Thailand (at a language school and then a government high school) and for the past 4 years I have been a language tutor. I have also been teaching English online for the past year. I am passionate about teaching, especially languages. I love to be creative in designing my lesson plans and I make sure to incorporate learning strategies to suit each student's learning style. In my spare time I love to write fictional (and often fantastical) stories. I also enjoy reading and drawing. I am patient, creative, and hard-working. I am computer literate and have access to a quiet work space with a high quality web camera and microphone.

I teach mostly languages (English and Afrikaans). I have taught all ages and all levels. I have assisted primary and high school, as well as university students and business professionals. I teach essay writing, grammar, conversation, and academic assistance.

I do offer online conversation classes, as well as grammar classes for which I have prepared my own materials.

Afrikaans is my home language and I have been teaching Afrikaans to students of various ages and levels for many years now. I teach Afrikaans both as a first and as a second language. I love my mother tongue and I relish the opportunity to share my passion for the language with y students.

Writing
I also have plenty of experiencing teaching students how to write essays at high school and university levels. Through my experience, I have identified several areas where students tend to struggle and have developed techniques for drastically improving on those. Essay writing can be very easy once you know what to look for and how to structure it properly.

Psychology
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from UCT and an honours degree in clinical psychology from UNISA. In my studies I covered most areas of psychology (industrial, social, research, psychometrics, etc.), but my main focus has been on clinical and neuro-psychology. I have a fairly good grip on research, stats, and psychometrics as well.

English Literature was one of my majors whilst completing my bachelor's at UCT. Since then, I have tutored many students in English Literature. I have also taught English as a language to many students, both native speakers and foreign language speakers.
