Mathematics is a subject that I have grown to master and love over the course of my High School and University years. My passion for Math as granted me the award of Top Student in the end of my Grade 12 year with a 95% average and a 89.5% in my first year of University. However, despite my high averages for Math, my deep interaction and understanding of the subject and how it is applied in the real world is what makes me a great tutor of the subject. I am able to help students visualize mathematical concepts and how they are affected by variables through illustrative diagrams while explaining. This method has helped many past taught students and even myself master concepts in Mathematics.

I came from having almost failed pure mathematics to earning a distinction for pure mathematics in matric. Whilst working my way up I had to learn various learning techniques and study aids to assist with my studies due to having no extra help. Furthermore I believe that maths is perceived incorrectly as just a bunch of facts and figures. It is actually more a lifestyle, it helps in reasoning, improves interpretation and intuition, teaches us patience, logic and enables us to view our world in a more systematic and orderly manner. It teaches us to look at something in a few different ways before making an assessment as to what steps to take which in fact is one of the basic life skills.

Mathematics is my personal best subject hence I decided to Major with Mathematics Education for my Masters Degree in order to change the negative mind sets towards Mathematics. I believe that everyone with a changed mindset and positive attitude can easily understand Mathematics by the help of a dedicated Tutor. I have always been interested in Mathematics and finance from a young age. I achieved 90% Mathematics in matric and also completed Mathematics 1 at university level.
