Chiara N - Tutor in N.T.
I was someone who used to barely pass mathematics and biology, but by learning what kind of student I was and making use of the various resources around me I managed to pass matric with distinctions in all of the above subjects. Now I am eager to work with students to achieve this as well. As a tutor, I am someone who will take the time to understand the pace and capacity of each student and incorporate different teaching methods accordingly. I will also teach the building blocks of learning, such as organisation, time management, task initiation, mind maps, diagrams and flash cards to create confident and independent students. But most importantly, I will get to know my students and build a trusting, but professional, relationship with my students in order to ensure that they are receiving the guidance they need.

Pure Maths
I came from having almost failed pure mathematics to earning a distinction for pure mathematics in matric. Whilst working my way up I had to learn various learning techniques and study aids to assist with my studies due to having no extra help. Should you choose to select me as your/ your child's tutor, I will teach you/your child how to both study and practice mathematics at the same time. If you/your child feel that these are the skills you/your child require to better understand mathematics, I can assure you that I can assist you/your child in improving your/ your child's mathematical skills.

Biology
With a subject as complex as biology, I feel that a more interactive and involved approach would be effective in learning biology: flash cards, mind maps, active recall, the psychology of colour, etc. These are all methods that I have mastered and have effectively and consistently used in my own studies. It is due to this that I can personally vouch that one of these methods are bound to work with you/your child. Plus, it makes education more fun!

I have personally struggled with vocabulary so I know how frustrating and challenging it can be to want to improve but not know how to. With a combination of flash cards, studying, drawings and active recall I can assist in improving your/your child's vocabulary in a matter of weeks!
