I have done a natural science and technology module which studying towards my degree. I have taught natural science in Parlock primary school hence I have gained experience in teaching the subject. My bachelor of science degree is a combined major of biochemistry, advanced cell biology, and physiology. I have a high level of understanding of science and I am currently a teaching assistant in Wits, which assists undergraduate students during practical sessions involving the teaching of theory, demonstration of techniques, and marking work including scientific assignments and essays. I am able to extend my teaching to high school students, primary school students, and university students.

Firstly, my teaching philosophy is to minimise the students weaknesses and teach to the students strengths. I have the skillset to identify the types of learning styles the student has and to be able to present information in a way that has the greatest effect. my main goal in tutoring is to build confidence in the student and to enhance their study skills and overall performance. I know I will be able to do this because I am a compassionate person and I am able to build a good rapport with the student. I am also empathetic, non-judgemental, enthusiastic, a good listener and most of all, patient. I am passionate about this particular subject because I have extensive knowledge that I would like to share to the student. In addition, I do have experience in teaching Natural science at a primary school level, that is why I will be the perfect candidate.

I take a great interest and passion for nature and its wonders. A biological system is of cardinal importance to the way in which we perceive life. As individuals we find ourselves facing a life of complex systems and a demanding society with many problems. Solutions to these problems are science-based. Having a knowledge about nature and what it has to offer can resolve the many daunting situations we are faced with.
