History has always been a major passion for me. Not only did I do history throughout my school Intersen phase at school but studied it as a choice subject in grade 10 to 12. While studying my Bachelor of Education Degree, I specialised in the subject of Social Science. This qualifies me to teach history and geography from Gr 4-9. However, due to my love of History, I often research and do programs learning about certain parts of history which helps me to teach learners in higher grades as well.

History is the most fascinating subject. It was one of my majors in University and I did it until Grade 12. History is fun to teach because you get to tell stories or the dead and many of the living.

As a Humanities student I truly believe that History is one of the most important subjects at school. Not only for its ability to contextualize historic events and allow for a better understanding of our world but also for the way it teaches you to think. The critical thinking that the subject requires is a vital skill, not only if one wants to further their studies, but also for the real world. As someone who understands this and has truly benefited from the subject this would be an area of focus for my classes. In addition I received a distinction for the subject in matric and am familiar with the curriculum.

I am a qualified History teacher. I myself have a passion for History, and I am always looking for new aspects of History to learn about myself. I have many resources for learning History that I think my students would appreciate, and as I am so interested in the subject, I am always finding new and interesting resources.

I've always been an avid history buff. I was the nerdy kid who used to watch the History channel, and to this day I still watch historical shows on Netflix. I received 89% for History in Matric, and I look forward to helping you enjoy this subject. As a journalism student at university, I am able to write and report in many different formats. In university all subjects go hand-in-hand to inform and build on one another. You have to understand essay writing first an foremost to be able to succeed in history. While I teach English, I have an honours in History from the University of Pretoria. I tutored first years students there and have experience teaching History to grade 11 learners. I find that History is best learnt through mastering summary techniques and improving essay writing skills.

I am knowledgeable in the subject as I have done it since Advanced Level high school, more so I graduated with a B.A with it included, went on to do honors and masters in the subject. I thoroughly enjoyed History in High School and took it up in University which increased my knowledge that does not limit me to a singular curriculum but various curriculums that include IEB,Cambridge A, AS and O' Levels respectively as well as DBE.

History is one of those subjects that you either find very fascinating or it puts you to sleep. I fall into the former category as I love a good story and seeing the timeline on which the events unfolded.
