Reading is a basic skill that we are exposed to in our daily lives. I teach reading to learners so that they can read aloud, in a group and encourage silent reading too. Using total physical response also helps because children learn to read by observing, hearing and using body language too. I use different reading materials like pictures, picture words, flash cards, story books, Puppets, magazines, signs etc to enhance reading I also encourage learners to choose their own reading material of their own interest. I use reading material that a relevant, in context, age appropriate and user-friendly. Reading strategies and techniques that are suitable for learners can help them improve their writing skills too. Reading is a skill that all children can be able to learn.

I am available to tutor a variety of English skills from, literature to language and grammar. I am a qualified teacher and have experience teaching English in South Africa. I also spent a year teaching English as a foreign language to children from ages 4-9 in Shanghai. I have just spent a term as a teacher in an international school in Malawi. At University, I thrived off interacting with others and learnt many skills in writing formative and descriptive essays.
