Good day student/s My name is Mrs Modise. I am a Foundation phase teacher who has been teaching for 8 years. My passion for teaching began in high school, I was intrigued and surely fascinated about how children develop, learn, explore and getting exposed to their daily life experiences. After high school I made a wise choice, I studied a bachelor degree in Education and after a few years I furthered my studies by completing an honours degree in Educational psychology. All children have a right to education that is fair, structured, meaningful, authentic and caters all children's learning abilities to help them become better and responsible citizens. From the above statement I believe that all children have the ability to learn irrespective of their race, gender and language. All children are unique, have different learning abilities, talentes and personalities that should be facilitated throughout their learning journey. I avail myself to guide, mantor, assist and facilitate your learning experience(s). I'm a guinune, caring, nurturing, emphasizing, engaging and responsible teacher. During my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, shopping, cleaning, watching cartoons, playing and board games. I am looking forward to meet you!!! I hope you feel the same way too.

I believe that reading is one of the important skills in elementary education. All subjects requires reading as a skill to comprehend.Reading is fun and rewarding too. Reading is a basic skill that we are exposed to in our daily lives. I teach reading to learners so that they can read aloud, in a group and encourage silent reading too. Using total physical response also helps because children learn to read by observing, hearing and using body language too. I use different reading materials like pictures, picture words, flash cards, story books, Puppets, magazines, signs etc to enhance reading I also encourage learners to choose their own reading material of their own interest. I use reading material that a relevant, in context, age appropriate and user-friendly. Reading strategies and techniques that are suitable for learners can help them improve their writing skills too. Reading is a skill that all children can be able to learn.
