I have been taught in the English language from grade 5 until I finished my last year in Varsity. One of the modules I did in University include Academic Language Course in English, Reading literature (Reading, Writing and Critical Textual Analysis) & English Academic Literacy.

I excelled in English in my matric and my writing has been exceptional in university. I enjoy literature and my spoken, reading and English speaking skills are excellent. I love teaching and have actually tutored English before and I believe I will excel.

I majored in English at the University of Pretoria whilst completing my BA Languages degree. I also went on to study English literature during my Honours year in Afrikaans. I think precisely because English isn't my home language, but a mastered second language, I can help both the second language speaker and the first language speaker. I find that English in primary school is about comprehension, whilst English is high school tests your writing and communication skills. I can help students master both comprehension, and communication and writing skills because my degree requires both.

I am an education editor for an internationally accredited higher education institution, and I have former experience in lecturing English and Philosophy to both first and second/foreign language students. I received training and have teaching experience in both Australia and South Africa. I have had a love for the English language since a young age, following in the footsteps of a mother who is an avid reader, writer and editor. As a law student a lot of my focus is around the English language. Spelling and grammar is essential in my field and so it is something I have come to master. In high school English literature was my favorite part of the subject and something I did extremely well in!
