English Language and Literature tutors in Western Cape

I am able to offer tutoring services to primary school learners to assist with English language skills in particular, those following the CAPS curriculum. I am able to assist in all areas of English including listening, speaking, reading and phonics, and writing and even handwriting. My teaching skills are varied, fun and engaging for younger learners.

I loved English in high school, especially the grammar section. I got 87% for the subject in matric. I am very good at explaining English grammar in ways that are easy to understand because I have such a firm grasp of it. I have been tutoring English grammar for 3 years and had positive results.

I was first in my grade for English Home Language in Grade 11 and have consistently received an average of 80% and higher since Grade 8. I am a passionate reader and have assisted many others in improving their English Home Language and English First Additional Language marks. I enjoy assisting others with English as it is one of my personal passions.

English has always been a language I have loved and had a passion for. Throughout my school career, I have always showed immense interest and enthusiasm within this class subject. In Matric, I gratefully received a distinction for this subject. I would love to share my knowledge and skills in this subject, while making it easy, simply and fun to learn.

I am originally Afrikaans and started at an english school in grade 6 and only have been studying in english since then, so I know how difficult it can be and can help out as much as possible. I have had to learn the ins and outs of all of the above.

I was very passionate about English throughout my Primary and High school careers. I then went on to Major in English Literature at University level, and I have been tutoring English at Primary and High school level for 2 years.

English Literature was one of my majors whilst completing my bachelor's at UCT. Since then, I have tutored many students in English Literature. I have also taught English as a language to many students, both native speakers and foreign language speakers.

Everything I said about reading applies here. I also enjoy teaching the rules of language and doing grammatical exercises till concepts are mastered and retained. I personally love English Literature which has a wealth to choose from. Having been an avid reader myself and worked in libraries I know lots of books and can apply my knowledge to the learner's interests. The language gets built out of the literature. We follow whatever story with grammatical exercises based on it and can even do things like write letters, do book reviews etc. from a single passage.

English was always one of my favorite subjects , it is a really fun subject and I believe with good practice , students can excel . I would love to tutor this subject because I’d like to pass on my knowledge and help students to excel !

I have experience in teaching English online. I have also been hired by two well know English teaching platforms, these being TutorABC ( iTutorGroup ) as well as Preply which is an international online teaching platform. I not only have to experience teaching English in an online environment, but I have also taught a variety of age groups ranging from kids, adults, as well as elders.
