I am passionate about Biology! I have a BSc Hons (first class) in Biological Sciences (with undergrad majors in genetics, and ecology and evolution) and I'm currently working towards a masters in Conservation Biology at the University of Cape Town. I have worked as a tutor on undergraduate biology courses and love making biology fun and easy to understand.

I achieved 78% for Life Sciences in Matric (IEB curriculum). I then completed a BSc degree in Human Life Sciences. I excelled in my degree which has given me the chance to do my honours in Genetics in 2021 - very few people are granted this opportunity. I feel really passionately about this subject and honestly believe that anyone can understand the work if presented with someone with the understanding, creativity and patience to explain in a way that the learner understands.

I have been Exposed to this Subject for numerous years with work. I also attained 98% on my Anatomy and Physiology Exams while studying as a Paramedic. So admittedly I have a very strong focus on the Human Aspect of Biology.

Biology is the science of life and living organisms, this is received differently by learners and parents of learners. Hence I am committed in engaging students at high level, considering their sensitivities and differences, bringing concepts to life with real world applications and challenging my students level of thinking and reasoning.

As a medical student (4th year @ the University of Pretoria), I am able to explain and teach all Mathematical and Scientific topics in an easy-to-understand way. We will find the best way for you to understand and recognise what it required from you, then work on recipes to approach the topics.

My undergrad and postgrad degrees are in the field of biological sciences. I majored in human molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry. I have tutored undergrad students in the subjects of genetics and biochemistry. I obtained honours and masters degrees in the field of genetics. I understand biology well, I have tutored the subject previously and I am looking forward to tutoring it again.

Biology was without a doubt my best and favorite subject. I finished high school with the 3rd highest mark in my school. Biology never felt like work to me, it was the one subject I could just go to and enjoy and I think that's what made me good at it. What many people get wrong about biology is thinking its extremely complicated and difficult. Its not . Yes, the words may be long and strange, but if you just break it down simply, you sill realise that the process are extremely logical and easy to understand and that its only the words that make it appear challenging.

From Microbiology to Zoology, from molecular cycles to life cycles, I love every aspect of Biology. I have dedicated most of my adult life to studying the natural world, and I have an unrivalled passion for all things Biology - from working in the desert sampling Hornbills and dodging Cape Cobras to wearing the lab coat and mask and working with human diseases, I've done it, loved it, and I can't wait to get you as excited about this field as I am. I have tutored Biology from Grade 8 through to Matric for 6 years, as well as at 1st-year University for 2 years, working with numerous students from different schools, backgrounds, and learning abilities. I believe that biology is a particularly multi-faceted field that requires a number of skills, including researching, essay writing, interpretation and application of learned principles, and as a result my teaching approach aims to develop both understanding of the subject matter and the necessary skills to express that understanding.

Biology started as one of my worst subjects and as I focused more I started to love it more. It was great to know more about myself on a basic and scientific level as well as know more about the world around me. I believe I have a great way of allowing Biology to be fun and interesting rather than just a task or something you feel you need to parrot learn. A subject to enjoy rather than loath.

I completed a year of BSC Genetics, Human Physiology and Psychology for which I was awarded the Golden Key Award for the top 15 % of University students. I have a passion for Teaching Biology and strive to ensure that the students meet their goals. I have improved my students grades markedly and most notably improved a students average by 20%.
