Hi there! I am Michaela, a 21-year-old honours student in Genetics at Stellenbosch University. I matriculated with 91% in Core Mathematics and also passed Advanced Programme Mathematics - both IEB Curriculum. I also achieved 78% for Life Sciences, and then completed a BSc in Human Life Sciences. I am super enthusiastic, patient, friendly and I understand my work well enough to be able to break everything down into small and simple steps, making it easy for us to understand each other.

I completed the IEB curriculum at school where I achieved 91% for Maths in Matric. I also did Advanced Programme Mathematics from grade 10 until grade 12, and then did Pure Maths in my first year at Stellenbosch University. My NBT results were also 91% for the Maths section and 89% for the Maths Literacy section. I thoroughly enjoy problem-solving which makes mathematics one of the favourite subjects of my analytical mind! Because of how much I love this subject, I am really passionate about helping others learn and enjoy it, rather than just having to do it as a chore. I am patient and in school and at university, I helped many of my friends to understand the work.

Biology
I achieved 78% for Life Sciences in Matric (IEB curriculum). I then completed a BSc degree in Human Life Sciences. I excelled in my degree which has given me the chance to do my honours in Genetics in 2021 - very few people are granted this opportunity. I feel really passionately about this subject and honestly believe that anyone can understand the work if presented with someone with the understanding, creativity and patience to explain in a way that the learner understands.

Human Biology
I have always loved learning about the human body and the way that it works, which is what lead me to study a BSc in Human Life Sciences at Stellenbosch University. I majored in Physiology (human physiology) which is why I think that I am suited to teach human biology. I achieved distinctions for 4/6 of my Physiology modules, while achieving 74% and 71% for the other 2 modules.
