Went straight from high school into university, and as such, have no current work experience, however I often help family and friends who are struggling academically
I attended Waterstone College where I recieved awards for being in top 10 academically, and for placing in the top three highest in the grade for subjects such as EGD and Biology. With the Marks I recieved, I was accepted into Wits University where I am studying architecture
Mathematics is notorious for being a well hated subject. I know this first hand as I was one of those kids. Maths was a breeze up until grade 10. I was regularly obtaining Mark's uowards of 80 and then got a teacher who I didnt click with this. My marks plummeted immediately and I was on the verge of failing. Trying to get out of that hole alone was incredibly tough and frustrating. It was only in grade 12 that I finally got a teacher I clicked with again and things went up and up from there, so much so, that at the end of my first year of university, I got 88% for applied maths. You shouldn't have to struggle like that, and that's how I come in. I've been there, I've been at the point of barely passing and I know how to come back and I will help you to come back and reach your potential.

I am an english person, however, there is a lot of afrikaans in my family and so naturally, I picked up a lot of it at a very young age, just by being exposed to it by those around me. This makes me the ideal tutor for someone looking for an afrikaans additional language teacher. I am able to help with anything from spelling, to reading, grammar and pronunciation. Being English myself, I am able to relate to other english people who are having a hard time picking up or understanding certain things.

Biology was without a doubt my best and favorite subject. I finished high school with the 3rd highest mark in my school. Biology never felt like work to me, it was the one subject I could just go to and enjoy and I think that's what made me good at it. What many people get wrong about biology is thinking its extremely complicated and difficult. Its not . Yes, the words may be long and strange, but if you just break it down simply, you sill realise that the process are extremely logical and easy to understand and that its only the words that make it appear challenging.

I had technology as a subject up until grade 9 and then from grade 10 onwards, I took EGD (technical drawing) as a subject. In my first year of EGD, i received an award for being top of my grade. Fast forward a few years and I'm now using those same skills while in my second year of architecture. EGD is a subject that many kids might attempt, but many will also struggle with. I remember how hard it was for me to imagine the 3d object in my mind to figure out how to draw it, and sitting hours to try figure it out. Because I have been in that spot, I am able to help you or your child out of that spot and help them realise how easy and effortless EGD can really be.

Throughout high school I was regularly one of the top performers in the english class and will be able to help with anything from setwork readings to grammar and vocabulary activities. My results were generally high 70s and above. I have a passion for reading and writing, and as such, feel that I can provide a lot of assistance to those who need it. I attended a private IEB highschool, and a government primary school, so I have a good idea of what is expected from the different schooling systems.
