I was a teacher for Grade 7-9 mathematics for 2 years i mastered the gist and the content of the curriculum. I understand learners challenges in maths at senior phase (GET). I have passion about teaching and conveying information across learners and preparing them for FET.

I think maths is exciting, there is no better feeling than struggling on a sum and then finally figuring out the answer. The problem solving aspect of it is rewarding once you are able to solve the sums. Maths is about making sure that one understands the foundation of it and making sure that a student has a firm grasp on basic concepts in order to build and be able to do more complicated sums. I think knowing this helps me assist learners better as I am able to first ascertain where the foundation is lacking before helping them in problem areas.

I am passionate and patient, I believe these characteristics will come in handy since Mathematics requires a lot of patience. I have realized that a lot of learners have the misconception that Mathematics is hard so I believe that I can change the mindsets of the learners by teaching them mathematics in the best possible and fun way. I know that no two learners learn the same so it is important to explore the learning style that each learner possess and then teach them in a way that is suited to their learning style. I am very well aware of the different teaching styles and how to put each style in to motion. A great teacher should possess both content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge and I believe that I possess those.

I have been tutoring Mathematics for 5 years and have well polished experience. All the students that I have taken through tutoring have passed their exams with flying colors. I believe in my ability to explain concepts until a student fully grasps the concept.

Mathematics was my strongest subject in school and after undergoing intense algebraic subjects in university, my knowledge of the foundations of the subject which are taught in school are proficient. I find it easy to explain mathematical concepts such that it is easy for the student to grasp.
