My name is Betty Mochosa and I am 21 years old. I am a second year student at the University of Johannesburg studying towards a Bachelor's degree in education, my major subjects are Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I am passionate and patient, I believe these characteristics will come in handy since Mathematics and Physical Sciences require a lot of patience. I have always wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself and that will help my community in one way or the other hence I spend most of my time volunteering; one would say that my hands are always itchy. The most important thing an individual learns through volunteering is the value of tolerance, thus I am able to understand and respect the opinion of others regardless of their age; it is known that no two learners learn the same so it is important to explore the learning style that each learner possess and then teach them in a way that is suitable to their learning style. I am a peer educator and a part of the University of Johannesburg International Student Society (UJISS) which deals with issues faced by international students; through the organisation I have learned to be empathetic and sympathetic. Lastly, I believe that all education is self education and that a teacher is indeed a lifelong learner.

I am very well aware of the different teaching styles and how to put each style in to motion. A great teacher should possess both content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge and I believe that I possess those.
