I am fully bilingual and have a good command of both English and Afrikaans. I teach grammar, vocabulary, spelling and lots more. My classes are presented in a fun, extremely entertaining and engaging way through games, music and props. Many of my students look very forward to their sessions with me every week. I have a great sense of humour which makes the learning environment a good, healthy place to be because students feel relaxed. A stressed student will not absorb and remember information in so it is imperative that my students feel calm.

It's my home language since I was born and I really have a passion for it. I have different methods of teaching a child a language they don't understand and don't want to learn. I have precious experience on how to motivate a child to learn and do homework.

Afrikaans was a second language, and not a lot of students like it. I want to change the negative image that these learners have about the subject.

I am well spoken in the language. I can read and write in Afrikaans as well. I always identify what level my student is on by giving them a pre screening to determine where we should start with the language. I make my lessons fun and stimulating.

Afrikaans is also a subject I have tutored in for the past three years and it has been by far the most rewarding subject to tutor in. I have learnt so much about how every student thinks and engages differently with the material and it is always exciting to help people to understand how to better approach a foreign language from an analytical perspective so that they can break it down into something more approachable.

Since I grew up in a mostly Afrikaans area, I am accustomed to speaking it daily. I had Afrikaans teachers and friends so am fluent in the language. It was also one of my best subjects in high school with 86% for my matric final.
