I have completed language courses at both the Taipei University of Education as well as the WITS Language School. I obtained my certificate to teach Mandarin from Beijing Language & Culture University, and am passionate about this language and the exciting world it opens up to those who can speak it. I have been fortunate enough to have spent time in China as both a language student and a teacher, and have therefore had ample experience learning this language and communicating with it in daily life. I am aware of the common challenges this language poses to students, and can therefore offer practical advice and exercises to help you to improve your Mandarin Chinese and gain confidence with this language.

I have studied and mastered this language, having also lived in Southcentral China for 6 years, I'm fluent in it as well. I have interacted and taught Chinese students English where I face students asking grammar questions in Mandarin in which I have to answer in a manner they will understand. thus breaking the communication barrier between teacher and student. I have also written the Chinese proficiency exam for foreigners and passed with impressive results. I have also written the medical Chinese proficiency exam and have a level 2 certificate.

As someone who has spent time studying Mandarin in China, I have learned the purest form of the language and have been taught by professors from all parts of China. During my time there, I made it my mission to learn as much as possible and hope to pass on my knowledge to you all. Contrary to belief, Mandarin is not as difficult as some may make it out to be.

I am Chinese and Mandarin is my first language. I grew up speaking the language and attended a language school after which I went on to achieve in the 90s for the SK level 5 exam. In 2018 I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Primary Education and composed a dissertation entitled "The Influence of Music on Primary School Chinese Teaching".
