Afrikaans tutors in Sandton

I currently tutor the subjects of Afrikaans, Geography and Life Science to various High School students from grade eight to Matric. These however are not the only subjects I can teach. I have a BA from Rhodes University with my majors being Environmental Science and Psychology so I can tutor these at a university level if needed.

I am bilingual and can understand how the student feels about tackling this subject. I care about each and every student and offer them individualized teaching/tutoring/educational support - study skills, organization, etc. tailored to the individual student . My training and experience allows me to be an excellent support for the student.

As a very energetic and self-driven individual with a passion for my teaching and helping others. I am determined to be successful in all my endeavours and work hard on accomplishing my goals. I am a go-getter who likes new challenges and are ready to learn something new every day to build up my experiences. I work well in a team but can also perform solitary tasks. As a very inspired person I believe in achieving excellence and are willing to take the next step. With extremely high morals, I am still an outgoing person and easy to get along with. I believe in a balanced life in every aspect possible.

I have a good understanding of the Afrikaans school subject (language and literature sections, as well as how to approach examination questions) and how it works for grading students, I'm happy to share my knowledge.

I have been an educator for more than 10 years. I have my Honours degree in Psychology and feel that this has helped me to approach teaching from a perspective that is based on the learning and age appropriate level of the child.

I am a native Afrikaans speaker. I received a high distinction in grade 12 for Afrikaans. I have sparked interest in the language in the primary school children that I have tutored. I have a true love for the language.

Through my experience as a teacher and tutor, I understand the learning, reading and language barriers students generally experience. I have helped several schools and adult students to overcome most of their learning challenges. As a patient and knowledgeable tutor, I have empathy and recognition of learning barriers that can be overcome through consistent, varied and focused tutoring methods. The main aim as your tutor is to break learning barriers progressively. Where there are no learning challenges, my role as your tutor is to improve present academic achievements and to continuously stimulate your knowledge and skills.

Afrikaans is my second language and I come from a predominantly Afrikaans family. This gives me the ability to be able to understand and speak Afrikaans but explain in English. Afrikaans is a very simple language and taking the time to learn it will be worth while.
