I am a qualified teacher, with a Ph.D. in education. My teaching and tutoring experience ranges from Afrikaans home and additional language, life orientation and remedial reading and writing. Coming from illiterate family background, my passion for sharing knowledge and tutoring skills to enhance self and further development in students from different age groups. Through tutoring, I continue to positively contribute to lifelong learning, skill set development and transfer of knowledge.

Experience / Education

I obtained my matric certificate from Success Correspondence College. My Teacher’s and Higher Education Diplomas were obtained from Potchefstroom University and Honours and Master’s degrees in Life and Career Orientation were completed at the University of Johannesburg, all through part-time studying. I worked as human resources, officer, generalist, advisor at the University of the Witwatersrand, the University of South Africa, the Commission on Gender Equality and Gender Links. At the Gauteng department of education, I worked as a temporary teacher. I am currently employed as a human resources manager and Chief Administration Manager at Lonerock Road Construction (Pty) Ltd, focusing on employees with skill resourcing needs as well as Employment Equity.

Through my experience as a teacher and tutor, I understand the learning, reading and language barriers students generally experience. I have helped several schools and adult students to overcome most of their learning challenges. As a patient and knowledgeable tutor, I have empathy and recognition of learning barriers that can be overcome through consistent, varied and focused tutoring methods. The main aim as your tutor is to break learning barriers progressively. Where there are no learning challenges, my role as your tutor is to improve present academic achievements and to continuously stimulate your knowledge and skills.
