I am a lover of languages and have always believed it to be one of the mostly important aspects of any education. I am educated up until 3rd year university to teach English language. I have been teaching at my local high school for the past 3 years.

I have been teaching matriculants for 2 years, I am currently the grade coordinator for grade 9. English is my passion and I want to share this joy with others. I have experience teaching English to all High School grades.

I have always loved English and think that sometimes it can seem complicated, especially for young learners. Let me help you learn English in a fun way. I can promise you that I am kind, patient and will not give up on your children. I am a confident English speaker and teacher. In University we took an English module of which I passed with distinction.

I have always loved languages and find that it is actually so simple once one just follows all the rules and catches on to the tricky things. It takes times to master languages (as do all subjects), but it can certainly be done. I also got a distinction for English in matric and have some experience with academic writing on varsity level.

I am an education editor for an internationally accredited higher education institution, and I have former experience in lecturing English and Philosophy to both first and second/foreign language students. I received training and have teaching experience in both Australia and South Africa. My current full-time job comprises improving the standard of learning material for our students from both a language and pedagogical perspective, and my passion in life is to positively contribute, in any way possible, to students' learning experience. I have also worked as a writing instructor at a writing lab and have spent many hours helping students develop better writing strategies and skills on both school and university level.

English FAL was one of my top subjects in high school, with reading, writing and presenting remaining a big part of my academic career. I pride myself at being able to choose words to suit the tone of a message or narrative and I think being able to articulate and convey ideas effectively remains important in any environment, be that in person or online. Poetry, literature, grammar and spelling are the tools to do exactly that: understand (feel) the nuances and tones in a written or spoken message and respond appropriately and effectively. Alongside helping with set curricula, I believe I can also convey a general feel of the language, which would help with performance in English as a formal subject.

I have 2 years experience working as an English Teaching Assistant in France in both high schools and middle schools alike . I therefore have extensive experience teaching English as a second language to learners of all ages and levels. I have also been a private English tutor in South Africa working with the national syllabus.

I can tutor all primary school subjects and would love the opportunity to help a child with their school week in general at a primary going school age. Also just to assist with homework and prepare for assessments'. I believe that my tertiary education and life experience to date put me in good stead for such a position. Even though my home language is English, we spoke both English and Afrikaans at home.

I am extremely passionate about English and all it has to offer and it helps that I am an avid reader and did AP English in my high school days. Literature is such a diverse and difficult section, but my enthusiasm for the language only makes it easier.

My home language is Afrikaans, but I always got a distinction in English because I loved to read English so much as a child. It is more than necessary for everyone to be able to talk English fluently and confidently, and I believe I can make that happen.
