I am a lover of physics. Though I studied engineering, I did self study in theoretical physics and cosmology. I also did self study in anatomy and physiology. I studied chemical engineering at Wits university and that taught me a lot of science and maths and it also sparked my love for physics and maths. I also took up other courses like psychology and philosophy to widen my knowledge spectrum.

Identify your strength and weaknesses on the particular subject

I love maths. But I struggled with it in primary school. Under the tutoring of my father, I got to believe in myself, realised that maths was not beyond me and finally got to love the subject. Hence my degree in it. When I tutor, I can read the eyes of my students and know whether they have understood. I will not move forward until I see the light in their eyes. Confidence is most often what is lacking. And that is what I give my students.

This is the subject I am naturally best at which is evidenced by my 90% matric score. I have a very good understanding of fundamentals of mathematics and this makes imparting the knowledge very easy. Furthermore it is my favourite subject, an area which I have plans to pursue at university level due to my love for it. The passion I have makes me an ideal candidate. I believe mathematics to be the cornerstone of the modern world and in the future understanding of mathematics and technology will be the new literacy

I have studied mathematics at a higher level in university during my studies for chemical engineering. I obtained a distinction for pure mathematics at high school level. I am able to show students simple methods of understanding mathematics.

I love Mathematics. I love solving equations and doing calculations. It keeps your mind and body alive. It helps us think analytically and have better reasoning skills. It is a challenging subject but it's really fun when you start understanding it.

I am currently tutoring Mathematics, Physical Science, Natural Science and Life Science with TeachMe2 and I tutored the same subjects with Honest Care in 2018. So I have quite a lot of experience. I got distinctions in for all my subjects (except Afrikaans) throughout high school and I did AP Mathematics from Gr.9 - Gr.11. It's all about practice with Math and Science so I do give a lot of homework but it's worth it in the end :)

I have been getting straight A’s for the subject since grade 9. I also took advanced and applied mathematics which I also passed in my matric year. I am well aware that Mathematics does not come naturally for some people but I have some techniques for studying and examination periods which students can use to excel in the subject.
