I am currently an Accounting, Statistics and Mathematics Lecturer. I am passionate about what I do and I love numbers. I have an honors degree in marketing and I am currently studying towards a degree in Accountancy.

I am currently studying BMus at the University of Pretoria. I have taken several courses that will prove useful in this position. These courses include first aid peer counselling and tutoring. I work well with children of all ages, am very reliable and organized, and am flexible and can problem solve under pressure. I am also a keen and willing learner. I am a lively and responsible young female au pair/ tutor with a good record of accomplishment providing quality childcare services and school tutoring for families in the Pretoria area. A friendly and competent au pair and tutor who is willing to take responsibility for the safety and development of children. I am a warm, enthusiastic and caring person who loves music and sharing music with those around me.

With regards to English, I have +/- 9 years experience tutoring and teaching English. 4 of those years I spent teaching English as an ESL teacher online, to adult professionals. During this time, I was also able to assist these students with proofreading and editing their written work.

The nature of my pursued degree in education and TESOL training has prepared me for this position. It involved a great deal of public speaking (during lessons and practical’s) as well as a wide range of skills which has prepared me to work with young people. I am a fast learner, work well with others and have a passion for making a difference hence I feel I would do well in this position and I should be very grateful for the opportunity to progress in the education sector. I am able to take on the responsibility of this position immediately, and have the enthusiasm and determination to ensure that I make a success of it.

I have always been in involved in teaching and developing skills in one form or another whether it was when volunteering to work with pre-school children in Minnesota, USA or as a senior English HL language facilitator in Johannesburg. Having been an English Home Language teacher for 10 years at senior high school level, I have become passionate about skill building.

I am a qualified professional educator with a BA in English and Communication, TESOL and PGCE, ample teaching experience, creative and highly organised with excellent communication skills. I am also passionate about teaching and helping people.

I have a lot of experience teaching this subject. I am able to teach to a student's understanding and am flexible enough to adjust my teaching style to the student's learning style. I love helping students to understand and learn their subjects!

As stated previously, I had English as home language up to grade 12 and completed English 1st year at University level. As I have completed a BA and BA Honors degree, I have formal language skills in English.

My passion is helping learners to get from where they are, academically, to where they need to be - and further! My experience includes private tutoring for Gr 1 - 12 in English and Afrikaans (HL and FAL). I am the mother of three grown sons, have my own transport and enjoy interacting with families in order to get to know the learner better - which in turn makes the tutoring process easier and happier for both myself and the learner. I make use of various styles of teaching - depending on the learner's needs. Exam prep is a time of fun exercises in the form of quizzes, multiple choice questions and verbal answering.
