I have mastered tutoring Mathematics over the years with more understanding of the concepts. No better teacher than experience, over the years I have been refreshing my knowledge from high school and university. One thing that worked on my advantage in my refresher was tutoring primary school maths as basics are everything! Mathematics Literacy is easier to understand and transfer the knowledge when you are a Pure Maths person. I master it!

I have an extensive university knowledge of mathematics as well as a BSc degree in Chemical Biology. I've been tutoring maths for 7 years and this makes me an experienced tutor not only with the work itself but because I've dealt with many students, I'm able to accommodate each student's individual personality and needs. I'm approachable and friendly and students respond well to my encouragement and guidance on how to do well. I ask lots of questions and give many examples to ensure that students have a firm grip on the subjects they struggle with. I and very passionate about teaching and enjoy helping students reach their aha moment.

I used to take Pure Maths in high school and did fairly well but eventually went on to Mathematical Literacy so I have a lot of experience with the subject. I also did extremely well in my matric finals with 91%. I'm a fast-thinker, easy problem-solver and love helping students to conquer the subject.

Since January 2017 , I have been working as an online and private mathematics tutor , teaching students mathematics grades 1-12 /IGCSE/ AS and A level and Calculus . In 2014, after I completed my Cambridge IGCSE and A level education and received my exemption certificate , I enrolled at the University of South Africa (UNISA). I am a UNISA BSC Mathematics student and I have obtained A* distinctions for Mathematics , Calculus A and Calculus B modules and examinations. I have assisted students with learning difficulties and have taught teenage students mathematics from primary school level successfully. I have assisted students with major gaps in their education and have encouraged them to give their best and have had breakthroughs in their understanding. I am excited , passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and mathematics. When I teach I focus completely on the student and client , their needs and provide assessments to find gaps in your understanding of your coursework.I use humor as a means to 'break the ice' and I work at the student's pace.I encourage the student to give their best while I give my best to assist the student and client. I am relaxed when I teach and provide a calm environment for the student to learn in . As a student , I understand the pressures we face while we study and feel a deep sense of achievement when I make a difference with teaching.As a teacher I am patient and I understand the stress that studying puts on us. When I teach , I utilize a whiteboard, books , drawings, notes and other tools to assist the student. I find the best method to ensure the student understands their work.I always discuss the work thoroughly with the student as I believe mathematics should be discussed in detail to ensure the student understands their work. I liaise directly with the student and client,provide feedback on lessons and try to teach mathematics in the most simple and easy to understand way.I understand the difficulties students face at school , especially when teachers rush students through the syllabus. I matriculated with a distinction in Mathematical Literacy. I took Mathematics in grade 10 and 11 but dropped to Mathematical Literacy in Matric. That helped me to gain a much better understanding of Mathematical Literacy. I often helped friends with this subject in high school.

I have always had a love for mathematics and how it can solve real world problems. I have a recipe for success in mathematics and I am able to apply that to learners of all levels of capability. In addition to helping the student enjoy and understand the importance of mathematics.
