Growing up I struggled with Math, especially in High School. The biggest challenge was not being able to grasp concepts and formulas; my Math teachers just couldn't explain Mathematics in a way that I could understand. Once I started studying at University, all the lights went on and I finally understood. I have now successfully taught Mathematics for the past 5 years and have devised clever-to- understand learning methods that make Mathematics fun and achievable. Distinction at matric level in maths and advanced calculus.

I have taught high school algebra before by pairing my knowledge of this section of maths with my teaching skills and what works for each learner. Algebra can be found in nearly every section of mathematics and is important to understand when building the foundations of the other sections.

algebra is one of my best subjects and I was really passionate about it in high school, and for the love of it, it will be a real pleasure for me to teach this subject to another person, and with this ability and this ease has taught I think I would be of fundamental help to you.

I got a distinction for pure maths at the end of matric. I have completed 3 maths courses at uct and achieved a first class pass for 2 of the 3. I believe in solidifying fundamentals and understanding an overview of the topics needed for study before diving into the practical component of learning- method learning is key.

I have an extensive university knowledge of mathematics as well as a BSc degree in Chemical Biology. I've been tutoring maths for 7 years and this makes me an experienced tutor not only with the work itself but because I've dealt with many students, I'm able to accommodate each student's individual personality and needs. I'm approachable and friendly and students respond well to my encouragement and guidance on how to do well. I ask lots of questions and give many examples to ensure that students have a firm grip on the subjects they struggle with. I and very passionate about teaching and enjoy helping students reach their aha moment.

I did very well in pure mathematics in high school and ended up with an A at the end of matric for mathematics. I also have previous experience in tutoring my peers and other learners in mathematics when i was in high school. I also did Calculus and LInear Algebra in my first year of University.

Algebra has been my favourite module in Maths and my passion for it allows me to help others understand and solve mathematical problems. I will be able to explain the concepts and help with the understanding of higher level thinking questions.
