I have a four year degree that specializes in Early Childhood Development and Foundation Phase education. I also have just under five years experience with teaching children between the ages of one and a half years old to 10 year olds.

I am currently being trained to professionally teach at this level and and for this specific subject as I’m studying to be a foundation phase teacher and I have many hours of previous experience in the specific content.

I have tutored all subjects from grade 1 to grade 7 for over six years now. I can cover numeracy (math) , literacy (English), natural science, social science, EMS and design and technology. I am able to help with tests, studying techniques and being able to understand the subject matter.

I have experience teaching primary school children. I am very patient, flexible and empathetic but I can be firm when I need to be. I like to provide structure to learning and especially to try and make learning as fun as possible and to instil a love for learning in my students that they can carry with them throughout their life! I can tutor any primary school subjects with confidence.

I have completed my Postgraduate Certificate In Education with distinction and specialised in Foundation phase and Early Childhood Development, I have about 6 years of experience working and teaching children from all nationalities and cultures.

I can tutor all primary school subjects and would love the opportunity to help a child with their school work in general at a primary going school age. Also to assist with homework and prepare for assessments'. I believe that my tertiary education and life experience to date put me in good stead for such a position. Even though my home language is English, we spoke both English and Afrikaans at home. I learnt that when it comes to learning, it is most important that the teacher is patient. I was by no means the top achiever, however this allowed me to develop the learning strategies to achieve commendable results. Teaching is more about showing the student how to learn in the best way to the point where they are self sufficient and confident in their learning abilities.

I have vast experience in nearly all Primary school level subjects. I deliver these subjects in a fun, exciting manner whilst allowing students to learn in their learning style. I consider myself as a caring, compassionate, confident, hard-working lady. I enjoy being creative and exploring my creativity through different means whilst developing creative minds in young children. . Teaching as a profession, is a rewarding job which allows one to become proud of the holistic development that we cultivate in our children. Whilst developing learners holistically, I encourage children to explore their different ‘intelligences’.

Being a Foundation Phase teacher in for the past 9 years I am best equipped to tutor a student in this phase and offer assistance in a variety of subjects in an engaging and creative way, tailored to the students unique learning style.

I have spent the past 6 months tutoring Grade 7 and above in the general subjects. I am well suited to this type of subjects as my teaching style seems to bring out the best in my students. The material is all based on application and incorporation into our own understanding. From previous experience, this works best!
