Pure Maths tutors in Johannesburg

Grade 3 - Grade 9 level maths, core. Maths is my strongest subject, I receive marks in the 90%’s for it. I find it easy to teach and explain, and I have different methods to explaining concepts if people find it difficult to grasp it the first time. I have previously tutored a Grade 5 student in maths. I also have all my previous tests and work in this subject from Grade 5 to Grade 9, which will be helpful for the student to practice and be exposed to different exam type questions.

I am a third year student studying Bachelor of education at Witwatersrand, majoring in mathematics and science. My home language is Afrikaans and fluent in English as I study in English. With this I have 2 years of experience with great results.

Even though I achieved an average of 90% in Matric, Mathematics is one of those subjects I personally found hard to understand myself; however, through applying myself rigorously to the conceptual foundations of the content I was being taught in class, I was able to excel. I am now even teaching myself mathematical logic, as part of my preparation for a PhD! Overall, I believe that these experiences position me very well as an educator, as I approach the subject from a foundational level, rather than assuming that the student has already acquired the concepts, or that they are somehow 'natural' and 'easy.' This means that I am often able to break down the concepts required into bite-sized, easily-manageable chunks - and this proves invaluable not only in acquiring the necessary content knowledge, but also in identifying and working through any gaps the learner might have.

I was a top student in Mathematics for almost all my life in grade 6 I was graded the best math student in the entire Eastern Cape.In my high school years I was always top of my grade except in grade 12.

I was a top achiever for mathematics in my high school and continued to preform through my university career. I've had a lot of experience tutoring high school students (primarily matriculant) in pure maths privately so taking on new students won't be an issue. I hope to give any student under my tutelage a thorough understanding of the subject material as well as some tips and tricks to help them master mathematics at any level.

Having a degree in Actuarial Science and also a career in quantitative analytics, I have extensive mathematical knowledge. I have tutoring experience and I have the desirable soft skills; patience, understanding and structure to successfully tutor this subject.

I matriculated with a distinction in both math and physics. Math continued to be a module I mastered in varsity. Math continues to be a core subject in software development. Throughout my 2 years of working in the construction industry, my main focus was on math and a tad bit of physics.

I am a social activist. I have a great interest in Environmental issues and have worked with a charity organisation called Clouddog. I am a final year Engineering student studying towards a Degree in Game Design through the Wits School of Electrical and Information Engineering. I build computer games and have a strong passion in using games to teach and inspire
