I would be the best tutor for Geography because it is the core element in my current career as an Environmental Scientist and I did this subject throughout University until Honours. I also matriculated with an exceptional Geography mark. My extended time doing Geography as a university subject and in my career has given me in-depth understanding of the subject as a whole. I am able to explain and breakdown concepts with ease in a manner that can be easily understood.

In matric this was one of my best courses, I achieved 93% as a final mark for geography. I really resonate with this course . It really comes natural to me. I wish to make a student of mine feel the same way as I feel with geography.

I was the top student of the UKZN geography cohort in 2015. My masters, honours and BSc degree were all majoring in geography. I have also achieved a 89% pass for Geography in matric. I am exceptionally passionate about the subject and am able to directly translate this passion into a tutoring experience that is beneficial to my students

I have always been passionate about the social sciences. Helping expand students knowledge of the world that surrounds them and how it affects them is a special passion of mine. Geography is so much more to me than meteorology and climatology now but a study of the forces that shape our earth and studying the people that inhabit it. I find it incredibly fascinating and only hope that my passion is passed on a little bit to my students. I have taught geography at highschool level and studied it at university.

I passed the subject really well in matric and I understand the various topics covered under the subject and the relevant complexities. I have seldom been allowed by my high school teacher to explain particular topic to the learners in her absence.

I got 86% for geography and absolutely loved it as a subject ! All students should definitely aim to get a distinction in this subject as it is interesting and you can use some of the knowledge in your life

Geography is one of my teaching subjects within my Bachelor of Education degree. I chose it because I was interested in getting more than a surface level of knowledge in it and have a deep love for the subject. Geography is often underestimated or looked at as an impossible subject. I have mastered the skills necessary to understand and explore it and also to teach it. I think Geography is such a useful subject for all to get acquainted with because of its many branches. Many life lessons, values and necessary skills can also be learned from this subject. I aim to foster these within my approach to teaching and tutoring the subject.

I am very confident and comfortable with teaching Social Sciences to primary school learners or Geography to high school learners as I did well in this subject during High School and I am now taking it at University level through UNISA.

Firstly, my teaching philosophy is to minimise the students weaknesses and teach to the students strengths. I have the skillset to identify the types of learning styles the student has and to be able to present information in a way that has the greatest effect. my main goal in tutoring is to build confidence in the student and to enhance their study skills and overall performance. I know I will be able to do this because I am a compassionate person and I am able to build a good rapport with the student. I am also empathetic, non-judgemental, enthusiastic, a good listener and most of all, patient. I am passionate about this particular subject because I have an Honours degree in it with 4 distinctions and I have extensive knowledge in the field. In addition, I do have experience in teaching Geography at a university level and it is no different from teaching it at a high school or primary level, that is why I will be the perfect candidate.
