English Language tutors in Cape Town

I have a passion for teaching and watching students finally understand their work. I love to help people and I am very patient so I will sit with a student for as long as it takes until they understand their work. I am currently in my second year of studies and I am studying Bcom Industrial Psychology at the University of Stellenbosch. I matriculated in 2014 at Fairmont High School.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Psychology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education ( Early Childhood Development and Foundation Phase).

I prefer to tutor grades 4-8. I can tutor in most subjects up to grade 9, apart from Afrikaans, which I will only teach up to Grade 7. I've attended several study courses, including the Juno course. These courses have really helped me and I'd love to show my students how easy it can be to learn and memorize. With our academic oriented society, the self-esteem of students often takes a few hits. It's important to me as a teacher that my students understand that their mistakes are part of a learning process. I'm admittedly young, but I achieve excellent results as a straight A student, which I have been my whole school career, and I have experience dealing with different learning styles.

I am a friendly and intelligent 25 year old female currently studying Early Years Montessori Teaching. I am really passionate about education and am particularly interested in helping students with their Music (theory and piano practical), English, History and/or Drama studies. I am very creative with particular interest in sewing, painting, reading, drama, dance and music. I have worked in the fashion industry (as a fashion designer, blogger, stylist and visual merchandiser), broadcasting (hosting 2 radio shows over 3 years) and most recently have been working at a Montessori pre-school as an assistant teacher.

English is my home language and it is a subject close to my heart. Since I was little my mother has always encouraged me to be an avid reader and that lead me to loving the English language and all of its aspects.

I am a qualified pre school teacher. I can read / write both English and Afrikaans fluently. Mother of two teenage boys I have been a medical secretary / PA for many years I am currently an accounts manager / PA to the owner of a small business. Teaching languages is Fun.... I aim to make it fun it helps the student learn the language easier.

I have 12 years' experience developing educational material from Gr R through Gr 12 in English Home Language and FAL; Afrikaans Home Language and FAL; Entrepreneurship, Life Skills and Economics. I have developed teacher training and support material for all these subjects and more.

I am a very outgoing, dedicated student with a good work ethic. I take pride in my academics and studies and am a very good communicator. I love working with people and specifically working with children, as I work very well with younger people. I have a passion for music, especially singing and try and sing as much as I can in my free time. I love being around and interacting with people and helping and working with children is something that I love to do. I am currently studying Bcom Management Sciences at Stellenbosch University and am majoring in logistics.

I am currently a final year student at the University of the Western Cape pursuing my Honors in Complementary Health Science, specializing in Phytotherapy. I have 6 years of experience in tutoring various school and University subjects. I am enthusiastic and able to adjust to the different needs of people.
