I passed my ordinary level examinations with the University of Cambridge local examination syndicate with 9 passes including a distinction in maths. At tertiary I did the following: 5 Banking diplomas. Post graduate certificate/diploma in Accounting & administration. London chamber of commerce and industry certificate in accounting & commercial law. Part Bachelor of education further education training, specialising in accounting, economics and business studies. I worked in banking for 15 years in the following positions: Admin clerk for 5 years Accounts clerk 2 years Staff loans officer 2 years Admin & collections officer 2 years Credit analyst 4 years Worked as a bookkeeper at Premier Medical services, there after worked as a commercial teacher for 5 years.

My name is Lindsay and I am a friendly, hard-working person who is passionate about educating the youth of Cape Town. I am currently working as a Primary school teacher, teaching Grade 4. I absolutely love my job! Besides work my interests include spending time with friends, family and pets, doing outdoor activities such as going to the beach or walking my dogs and I also enjoy reading and watching movies. I consider myself to be a very down-to-earth person who is easy to get along with and very organised.

Tuition is a personal experience and can often be a sensitive issue. My approach has always been honest. My experience and deep understanding of the content knowledge, coupled with a feel for what the learner needs guides my ability as a tutor. This being said the qualities I have that will me excel in this role are the following: I am accepting and understanding of others, this helps parents and learners feel safe and secure in communicating there educational wants and needs. I have the learner’s best interest at heart, this attitude fosters trust in my guidance. I am confident in my ability to diagnose, prescribe and tutor the learner to achieve results. This self-belief provides assurance to the learner.

I make my learners take part in everyday economics in order to understand the bigger picture in macro and microeconomics. In this way learners will only need to apply specific terms in a field that is involved in our day to day decisions and activities.

I believe that I will be a great tutor for a students because I have active learning skills, strong ethics good judgement and decision making skills and ability to solve problems and implement strategies. I believe that I can improve a students critical thinking skills as I have deep knowledge and passion for Economics and ensure that students do well at all times and use their own knowledge and capabilities to think for themselves and gain the skills to resolve Economic problems.

I had Economics at school as well as University and have a good background of the subject. I enjoy teaching learners Economics as it is a very important part of our existence and our country. For any learner who wants to pursue a career in business or finance, it will be crucial to have a good foundation for the subject.
