Biology tutors in Cape Town

Biology fascinates me - it has always been one of my favourite subjects. I received 85% for Life Sciences in matric, and have had experience tutoring the entire matric syllabus, as well as other grades.

The field of biology is exactly what I have three degrees in and thus makes me efficient in my ability to understand, teach and explain this subject from basic cellular structures, to physiological functions and anatomy.

In high school, biology was my favorite subject. Biology is a very diverse and interesting subject which I feel passionate about teaching. In fact, my entire academic career has been built on the foundations taught to me within the biology field.

Biology is my absolute favorite subject to teach as it applies to our everyday life. It is the study of all living things and therefore crucial to understand not only for school but for life beyond school. I have taught IGCSE Biology as well as all grades of IEB and CAPS.

With a subject as complex as biology, I feel that a more interactive and involved approach would be effective in learning biology: flash cards, mind maps, active recall, the psychology of colour, etc. These are all methods that I have mastered and have effectively and consistently used in my own studies. It is due to this that I can personally vouch that one of these methods are bound to work with you/your child. Plus, it makes education more fun!

I consider myself a slow learner and I will always have to work very hard to achieve the academic results I want. I understand if someone does not get something right away and I am more than happy to explain things in different ways, be it colours making up songs or acronyms or drawings. I believe that in order to achieve good marks in biology or life sciences you first have to understand how your brain remembers information best and then apply those ways. Biology is all around us, and making it a part of your life instead of seeing it as a school subject makes it more fun which in turn makes it easier for your brain to learn and accept knowledge.

I carried this subject right through high school and further into my bachelor of science degree, giving me 8 years of experience in this subject. I am extremely passionate about both natural and human biology and received 87% in my final matric year, for this subject. My deep understanding and knowledge base, would enable me to help you grasp, understand and apply all the biological processes and concepts.

I am passionate about Biology! I have a BSc Hons (first class) in Biological Sciences (with undergrad majors in genetics, and ecology and evolution) and I'm currently working towards a masters in Conservation Biology at the University of Cape Town. I have worked as a tutor on undergraduate biology courses and love making biology fun and easy to understand.

Biology was always my favourite subject and something I am passionate about. After also studying game ranger guiding, I can apply the theories to real life examples that I will bring this subject to life for you, making lessons fun and engaging.
