I have a thorough understanding of the learning difficulties related to ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder, and Global Developmental Delay. I have previously worked with children who are physically and mentally disabled. I am completely comfortable with working with them. In fact I enjoy it. My calm and patient nature also makes me the perfect candidate as I will remain calm if the client becomes unsure or struggles with something. I will also motivate and encourage the client to try before I give the answer to something or help them.

Having obtained an honours degree in Psychology, combined with previous experiences in my life, I feel that I possess the capacity to help those that might suffer from cognitive impairments, physical impairments or those that are in emotional or mental distress. I feel that I have the emotional insight to tutor or assist those with special needs to achieve the goals that they set out for themselves.

As a remedial teacher I have a unique interest in learners that learn differently. I enjoy working with the learner to find a learning style suited to their personality and learning profile. In my many years of experience, I have taught many learners who needed a different approach and who have become really successful business people. At this present moment, I consult to a school as a remedial consultant.

I am patient, flexible and empathetic. I think these are important qualities when it comes to teaching and tutoring any students. I always aim to form a comfortable relationship with my students so that they feel as though they are able to share their concerns with me. I believe that working together towards a goal or towards overcoming difficulties is a great way to build confidence which is essential in learning! I am a very empathetic person and I will always be sensitive to each student's unique challenges when it comes to learning and try my best to work with them to develop a learning strategy that works for them.

I have a TEFL (Teaching English Foreign Language) certificate and have a degree in Sports Science. I've been a tutor since 2015 and have worked with students from Grade 1, 2, 4, 6 - 8. I've also been facilitating a 13 year old girl with Asperger Syndrome. I attend most school classes with her and assist her with executive skills and so forth.
