I’m a caring, trustworthy and patient individual who constantly strives to better my understanding of people and the world. I went to school at Kingsmead College in Johannesburg. I have completed a Bachelor of Humanities majoring in psychology and sociology at Stellenbosch University.

I found Afrikaans to be quite a challenge when I was in primary school until I had a wonderful teacher who made it fun and made it easy to learn! She encouraged me to embrace the language and I have never looked back! I am therefor passionate about passing on this passion for the language

My moms family is Afrikaans and I have grown up speaking and listening to this language. I am almost fluent and can understand the language perfectly. I receive extremely good results for Afrikaans and can help fellow students with taal (language) rules, orals as well as written work.

Through my love of Afrikaans and hard work, I was able to achieve 92% for Afrikaans for my final matric mark. Moreover, I have tutored a grade 5 and a grade 7 student in Afrikaans (focusing on test preparation, grammar and vocabulary, and essay writing) from August to November 2017 and then again from October - November 2018 ). This was done on a part-time basis and I was a private tutor. I also tutored three high school students in Afrikaans (focusing on homework, essay composition, and exam preparation) from January to June 2018. This was also done on a part-time basis and I was a private tutor.

Afrikaans is a language that has less people speaking it as it is not taught in some schools but I am passionate about reinforcing its culture and assist with others understanding it and enjoy it as I do too. Afrikaans requires patience, tenacity and a good understanding of it, I believe that I can be of such assistance and improve any student's Afrikaans skills in literature, language, vocabulary and writing skills.

I have 6 years experience in this subject. I have mastered a few skills over the years on different ways to approach each learner accordingly and to meet them at their desired level. I have experience in a variety of methods to achieve success during each lesson.

For all of the above mentioned subjects I have obtained >80% in matric. I have a passion in learning and teaching using creative methods and study techniques. I never give up and I motivate others to endure.

My first language is Afrikaans. I love teaching Afrikaans. I gave reading lessons in Afrikaans for students that needed to improve their vocabulary, reading comprehension, spelling and writing skills.

Need help with Afrikaans FAL? I grew up in an Afrikaans household but was raised english, but that thankfully never affected my Afrikaans mark. Afrikaans to me is a creative subject and I teach it creatively so that work does just get stuck but actually learnt.
