My name is Finn and I am currently in grade 12 at Silvermine Academy. I live in kommetjie but my mom works at the Two Oceans Aquarium in the Waterfront. I have been conditionally accepted to study medicine at UCT next year which I am extremely excited about. I have achieved the top results in my grade since moving to Silvermine when I was in grade 9 in 2016. My subjects are English, Afrikaans, mathematics, geography, life sciences, physical sciences and life orientation. I am currently the head student and have been the secretary for the school’s interact (social impact) club from 2016-2018. I was also chairperson of the Two Oceans Aquarium Student environmental activist club. I have also volunteered at the Two Oceans Aquarium since 2015 and have tutored fellow students. I do horse riding and often exercise other people’s horses when they are away. I have a passion for helping people and learning. I am extremely good with children and enjoy spending time with them. I am a people pleaser and thrive off of positivity. I am also very organized and punctual and always willing to go the extra mile.

I have volunteered at the Two Oceans Aquarium since I was 14 years old and am very lucky as my mom works there and I have had the opportunity to work with various people as well as sea creatures.

Pure Maths
I have a passion for maths, it is my favourite subject. Throughout primary school and grade 8-9 I was always asked to explain equations and sums to my class (sometimes even my teacher). I have tutored grade 10 and 11 mathematics at my school and have an extremely good understanding of the subject. I achieve extremely good marks for maths and would love to help fellow students achieve good maths marks too!

I have done Geography throughout my schooling career and throughly enjoy the subject. I have a good understanding of the various topics covered and have extensive notes covering everything learnt from grade 10-12. I receive extremely good marks for geography and help fellow class mates to study before tests and exams.

My moms family is Afrikaans and I have grown up speaking and listening to this language. I am almost fluent and can understand the language perfectly. I receive extremely good results for Afrikaans and can help fellow students with taal (language) rules, orals as well as written work.

Biology
Biology (Life sciences) is another one of my favourite subjects that I do extremely well in. I have a solid foundation and understanding of the subject as well as extensive notes covering all grade 10-12 work. I am able to assist with all work covered in primary school and well as grade 8 - 12.

Physical Science
I have a good understanding and foundation in both physics and chemistry. I receive good marks for these subjects and have tutored fellow students at my school. I enjoy physical sciences and therefore put in lots of effort. I have extensive notes and am able to assist with studying.

I achieve extremely good marks for English and have comprehensive notes as well as an understanding of and on various topics ranging from the simple different nouns to the high school poetry. I speak English at home and am able to help with homework, preparing orals, research tasks, essays, poetry as well as studying. I enjoy reading. I believe I am capable of helping fellow students achieve their English goals.
