While living in China, Academic Writing was a compulsory subject, in which students were taught to write college-level essays, complete with sources and in-text citation. My essays I wrote in high school always achieved above 75%, and some even achieved above 90%. My teachers regularly read my essays to the class. I also worked as a writer for our school newspaper, which won best newspaper in the district in 2018.
