I am a Grade 1 teacher. I am Head of Grade 1 and I teach the academic support class. The learners in my class have academic challenges. I teach Numeracy, Literacy and Life Skills. I use a variety of methods when teaching, with a lot of visual clues to help the children remember concept and apply them successfully. I instill a sense of responsibility and self respect in the children. I also focus on honesty and I motivate the children to do and be the best they can be.
I studied through UNISA and obtained a Brim Ed Degree at the end of 2000.
I have been teaching foundation phase for 20 years so have a lot of knowledge and experience in this area. I build on the childrens knowledge, motivate and encourage them to believe in themselves to excel.
