I am in my 3rd year of studies at Stellenbosch University. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans. I have a passion for the subjects I will be tutoring, and have enhanced my Mathematics and Physics skills at University. I am willing to go the extra mile to help students achieve their academic goals. I believe in helping students achieve their own potential. I will focus on finding out exactly what a student is struggling with and will help them with those specific problems to fill the gap in their understanding.

I am a passionate tutor, qualified teacher and therapist who has vast experience in teaching different curricula (NSC, IEB and Cambridge). My focus is on teaching Mathematics, Physical Science and Commerce subjects (Economics and Business Studies) at the Intermediate, Senior Phase and FET levels. My teaching style involves both inductive and deductive teaching and I enjoy the use of technology. The training I have had in teaching, inclusive education and psychology has given me great insight into working with students. My approach involves both focussing on academic content, as well as reducing stress and anxiety around study material. My hobbies include playing the piano, collecting orchids, gardening, learning languages and reading.

I am a final year Dentistry student at the University of the Western Cape which for me still sounds surreal as I thought that dream was impossible for me to reach. I myself have struggled a lot during high school specifically with science and mathematics working incredibly hard and spreading too many tears to be able to get into the medical field I am in now and am planning on continuing and study medicine after. I sympathise a lot with others who do not understand or struggle with a certain subject because I count myself as a slow learner and see things in a different perspective than most people which is also why I have been told I would make a good teacher because let's face it people who 'just get it' think differently, faster and explain things way more complicated than necessary. The subjects I enjoy and did best in were Biology and German as a home language. My name is Claudio da Silva and I am currently studying Bsc. Actuarial and Financial Mathematics at the University of Pretoria. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and can assist with Mathematics(as well as Advanced Mathematics), Accounting, Geography and Afrikaans at any Grade from 1 through 12. I achieved 6 distinctions in matric. I have also completed Mathematics 1 and a course in financial management at university level and this extended knowledge will only enhance the knowledge of students in subjects such as Mathematics and Accounting. I am able to tutor online due to our current situation. I have been told by previous students I have helped that I make the content on hand easier to understand and I try my best to make the lessons as fun as possible for the student. If you are struggling with something, the tutoring session should not be something that the student isn't looking forward to but it should rather be seen as an opportunity to see the content in a different light and thus hopefully create an environment for better understanding. As a person I am very approachable and flexible with times and will help students as much as they need the help and bridge any gaps that are missing. I have been told I am a likeable person and i strive to be light-hearted and well rounded in all my activities. I enjoy many sports and many types of different games.

I am an energetic, people-loving person. Teaching is a great passion of mine. I am currently a 4th year BEd student at the University of Pretoria, with English and Music as my major. In my free time, I enjoy playing on my piano, going to my horse, or attending a dance class.
