I am a second year BA Humanities students at Stellenbosch University. I am on the House Committee at my residence and I was headgirl at my school. I have always loved English which is why I take it at University and I also take History. Art theory as well as Drama theory and practical work are my favourite things to learn about!

My name is Shannon and I enjoy outdoor activities such as running and hiking, as well as relaxing indoor activities such as reading and playing the piano. I have experience working as a mathematics and science tutor, a classroom assistant, a river guide, a consulting engineer, a flight instructor and an airline pilot.

I learn from my students. I am fluent in English, Law, Social Studies and have patience to preserve with all students. I have taught on line, privately and overseas. I acknowledge all students are different and therefore tutor in a manner that the student comprehends. I like my students to ask questions and in this way we can see the progress that is being made. I have patience and make my lessons interesting. I am passionate about Education and enjoy seeing a smile from my students when they have achieved an exercise or grasped a sentence, word or meaning. Failure does not feature in my vocabulary.

About me: I am a fun-loving, 21 year old who is studying a Bcom in Marketing, hoping to do my Honours in Brand Induction and Media. I am a well-rounded academic as I am congruently studying towards my Modern Dance Teachers Diploma and have studied all things anatomy and child psychology related. I have a strong pull towards all things creative, leadership and, most of all, teaching. My tutoring: I am an energetic, motivating and extremely caring tutor that will go the extra mile for all my students. My passion for tutoring is rewarded by my student's stress levels having decreased, if not having completely vanished, as a result of the knowledge retained by my teaching. In place of this, the student is left with confidence and passion for the specific subject. I personalise the way I approach each and every subject as well as how I tutor each and every student. I am currently a second-year medical student at the University of the Witwatersrand. I matriculated cum laude from St Stithians College. I love teaching and learning! I have previous experience tutoring matric level maths.

I am a qualified English and Natural Science teacher. I have been teaching English for a year and a half and am very passionate about teaching and helping learners to achieve a set goal. I am very patient with learners who show me their dedication.

I am a young, passionate, qualified Intermediate Phase teacher. I believe that each learner has the potential to achieve their academic goals. Learners have different learning styles and I will be able to adapt to it. Some learners need individual attention, which I can provide. I am trained in the CAPS curriculum. I also have six months experience in the A.C.E. curriculum. I can tutor any subject from grade 1-7. However, I prefer Afrikaans, Mathematics and Social Science. If a learner needs online tutoring, I am capable to do it as I have experience in online teaching and will be able to use any online program that is used for tutoring.

I matriculated in 2003 with 7 distinctions. My favourite subjects are Maths and Additional Mathematics higher grade- obtained 93% and 97% respectively (IEB) in my years. I tutored privately for about 7 years thereafter. I also studied a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree at WITS University where I obtained distinction for Computational and Applied Mathematics- and tutored for the university part time. I enjoy anything analytical and love sharing what's great about the subjects and how they can help your future. I have worked in many fields and Maths has been the biggest asset- finance, real estate and auditing (even yoga ;)...running my own business...accounts need to be done!) Even though I have not studied Maths in a while, I did so many years of it that it is a part of my being! I can read and understand in minutes, and would love to help anyone find the joy in it too. PS I can assist with Accounting too as I completed that degree as well!
