My name is Jody-Ann Decker I am 24 years old and I am busy with my degree in intermidiate phase education. I am passionate about learning. I didn't always have it easy at school and always had to give 110% to achieve my goals which taught me the valuable lesson of dedication and self discipline which helped me change the way I learn and experience learning. I am a Mathematics teacher with 25 years teaching experience. I am currently teaching in South Africa but have also taught in the United Kingdom where I obtained my Qualification Teacher Status. I am passionate about what I do as well as being very patient. I teach grade 8 to 12 Mathematics as well as Mathematical Literacy. I am also able to teach primary school Mathematics. I will provide you with worksheets to assist you as well as memos. I have a drawing tablet which would make teaching Mathematics online very easy.

I do online tutoring of Maths and Physical Science. I try to make the subjects interesting by relating the subjects covered to real life examples. I also try to teach my students to think carefully about what they are learning, rather than just learning topics mechanically.

I have worked as a Metallurgy Professional in Training at Anglo American Emalahleni Water Reclamation Plant for two consecutive years (03 Jan 2017 – 18 Jan 2019) where I gained direct experience in acid mine drainage water treatment. During this time, I also acted as the Process Support Officer at the water plant for three months. I have also worked as a Plant Foreman at a Thermal Coal Washing Plant (Anglo American Goedehoop South Plant) for six months where I assisted the Senior Plant Metallurgist in providing support and metallurgical advice to plant operations to achieve productivity objectives in terms of safety, plant operations and cost control. l enjoy living life to the fullest.
