I am a part time actuarial science student at the university of Cape town. I have some time on my hands so I decided to spend it doing something I love. I have always enjoyed mathematics and performed decently enough in it lol, and I think I can teach it just as well.

I am currently a Business Studies, Life Orientation and Tourism teacher and have experience teaching EMS as well as Grade 10 accounting. I completed my BCom (honours) Business Management degree at the University of Pretoria in 2016 majoring in International Business, Logistics and Strategic Management. I am patient and willing to help learners of all abilities.

I am qualified chartered accountant with international work experience, I am also an accredited presenter on technical accounting topics. I received 92% for mathematics and 82% for accounting in my matric year.

I have been involved in teaching in one way or another since I was in high school. My sister's school friends were sent to me if they had any trouble with their high school math and I got my sister from a 14% in grade 8 to being 3rd in her class (with 82%) in math core. I have taught children as young as 4 and am currently lecturing 1st and 2nd year design students in subjects ranging from photographic studies to business communication, webdesign and marketing to design thinking and history. I have a degree in Psychology and I am currently completing my Honors. I have also studied a Diploma in Drama and additional studies in English as well as a TEFL certificate. I love learning and I love teaching even more. I believe all learning should be fun. Studies show that we are more likely to remember what we enjoy. My name is Luke Baker, I am a 25 year old fully qualified English teacher, who has a passion for the subject and teaching. I have been working with school children for the last 7 years. This has ranged from ages 5-19. I worked at a boarding school in England for a year, as a boarder master. I have been a sports coach at a private school in Durban for 6 years. I spent 10 weeks teaching English as my practical experience for my pgce, as well as teaching one term of Life Orientation.
