Math's was a subject that I just clicked with at school. I would be comfortable teaching math until a Grade 10 level. -Statistics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, general math, primary school math, mathematical literacy. Over my years of tutoring experience I was able to pin-point different ways of learning and studying methods that worked for different people.

I have experience in teaching young children, and I am able to convey simple ideas in a way is memorable. I am a mathematics graduate and believe I have the necessary skills and knowledge to add value to a student.

I am confident in my skills to assist learners with achieving numeric skills. I have a deep-rooted passion and skill to teach numeracy to young children. Numeracy and number sense is sometimes misunderstood by young children, I enjoy developing their capacity in numeracy and experience numeracy differently.

I love building foundation and I think Numeracy can be emphasized for both primary and high school use. Without Numeracy I believe that the kids will not be able to solve other problems arising in daily lives as Numeracy equip learners with the most important basic knowledge which impact in the way of thinking, problem solving and critical thinking.

I am currently tutoring learners in numeracy at a primary school level and I have seen a massive improvement in the learners interest and marks obtained in the subject, particularly with learners struggling to concentrate and struggling with the subject.

I have 4 years experience tutoring and managing after-school projects in various areas around Cape Town and drew up curriculum booklets for SHAWCO Education at UCT aligned with the CAPS curriculum in Numeracy, literacy, sports and more from grade 1 to grade 10s.

I like to teach using various methods - games, blocks or items and exercises. In my experience, these different methods help reinforce and strengthen the concepts being taught. I make sure to incorporate these different methods according to how the learner learns best to make the class dynamic and fun.

I am currently being trained to professionally teach at this level and and for this specific subject as I’m studying to be a foundation phase teacher and I have many hours of previous experience in the specific content.

Teaching in the Foundation Phase of Primary schools has given me the experience needed to best assist learners between Grade R and Grade 3 to understand numeracy concepts. In a creative and engaging way, I teach a variety of Numeracy concepts that students are able to remember and apply in a variety of ways.
