I currently work at a Non-profit organisation The Genesis Trust in a ministry called Khula Teach based in Khula Community Centre. I have always had a heart for community work. I enjoy working hard creating an impact. I have worked with children in Kokstad, Urban affluent schools in Portshepstone and children in rural schools. I have experience in creating quality curriculum from Grade R - Grade 8 in English, Maths, Emergent computer literacy skills and have taught grade 12 Computer skills as well. I have a passion for children that have barriers in learning. part of the educational program that I work in is to develop English reading skills, maths and computer literacy. I have been very successful in accomplishing these tasks to over 350 children per week. I understand the needs of young children and the developmental needs they require to be successful. I travel a round trip of 120km to work. I create resources to assist children as well as constantly mentor and engage through assessing their individual needs in my teaching.

I have completed all English modules needed for a Bachelor's Degree in Education, however, I have not managed to complete all modules required to acquire my degree. I have succeeded in teaching Grade 8 students at a rural school in Mahlabathinin with English literature kills. English literature is a passion of mine and do enjoy the theatre of literature. I have studied through Embury and I have done well in Academic literature skills. I have also upskilled my self with many courses in order to equip myself to better impact younger children with their literacy skills.

Mathematics and emergent number skills is where I excel. I have resources, experience and skills to help learners that have barriers to learning in emergent number sense and numeracy skills. I love maths, it is my passion. I enjoy teaching git and I am passionate about changing a child perception about maths, maths is fun if you know how to teach it well.

Numeracy and number sense is sometimes misunderstood by young children, I enjoy developing their capacity in numeracy and experience numeracy differently.

I am passionate about early literacy and phonics and can comfortably assist learners to perform at an optimum level. working with rural as well as urban children has equipped me with enough experience and resources to be a successful English teacher.
