I have always had a flare for English, especially literature and creative writing. It is something that does require attention and proper work even though it is novels and plays. I achieved good marks throughout of high-school and finally in matric as well so i believe i have sufficient background knowledge to assist other students and help them achieve great results! I am very passionate about it and love the works of literature.

English is one of my main subjects at the University of Pretoria. I am an aspiring English teacher. English is a language that is spoken in almost every country in the world. I believe that children should be proficient in English for this reason. I also believe that children learn and perform best when they are motivated and encouraged rather than forced to learn something. It is my goal to motivate and encourage my students to enable them to perform to the best of their abilities.

I have worked extensively for the past 6 years teaching and tutoring pupils (including remedial and special needs pupils) between the ages of 4 and 21 in a variety subjects, though my passion and area of expertise is English. I have gained valuable work experience and I am interested in contributing the knowledge I have acquired throughout the years to better the knowledge of others. My English skills have been commended and recognized throughout my academic career.  My proudest academic achievements are earning a Gold Certificate in the English Olympiad during my matric year,  a distinction in the IEB NSC matric examinations for English and the commendation and subsequent selection of one of my English essays to be featured on a course unit blog at UBCO. I also completed an Oxford Seminars TESOL course on January 13, 2014 with a grade of 84%. My certification afforded me the opportunity to work as an effective tutor and OT facilitator. The most rewarding experience I had through this work was teaching a special needs girl how to read, write and speak. With experience as an IT Monitor, a Prefect, a Forum Representative, the leader of a Student Organization in high school (2011) as well as being commended for my deportment, I am equipped with the organizational, technological, communication and listening skills that I believe are essential for a dependable and respectable educator. I am a patient and motivational person, who enjoys the rewards that come with teaching. I am eager to apply my skills to the best of my abilities in order to establish a happy, organized and productive learning environment.

I am fond of the English language and spend most of my free time studying literature and reading. Poetry is an art form for me and I have tutored English for over four years. I am able to break down complex language structures and identify key elements which learners can expect in exams.

I received on average, above 80% for each of my years right from grade 8 to matric in English. I scored the highest in my school for my final speech marks and received countless awards for orator and public speaking events. I am passionate about the subject, that includes literature and grammer, making it easy for me to help you understand concepts better and make them more applicable both to today age and to your own life.

I have been teaching English for 5 years and have gained a lot of experience teaching the South African curriculum. In that time I have really proven myself and became a subject head and I managed the SBST (school-based, support team). We assist learners that have learning disabilities. SBST entails, support books, intervention plans for the grade and individual support plans for each learner. I majored in English at the North West University of Potchefstroom. I am the best candidate for tutoring because of both my academic degree and teaching experiences.

I am international accredited. I have graduated cum laude for both my undergraduate and post graduate degree. I have more than 5 years of experience in both secondary and tertiary sectors. I taught at the University of the western cape, Linguistics to first years students. I am currently teaching at a secondary school grade 10 and 11. I am concurrently teaching grade 12 at a night school in Manenberg, Cape Town. I also previously taught English as a foreign language to students from around the world such as Brazil, China and Japan. I absolutely love teaching English.

I am a native English speaker, and proficient in written, listen, reading, and communicative skills. My objective to is to further my studies in linguistics which will enable me to offer immaculate and proficient tutoring for all concerned.
