Afrikaans tutors in KwaZulu-Natal

I received 89% for Afrikaans in Matric and my Home language is Afrikaans, therefore, I am able to tutor Afrikaans for school and conversational purposes. Due to my numerous years of training experience, I have learnt to effectively teach different types of students using study methods best suited to their preferences.

I grew up in an Afrikaans house hold and attended a predominantly Afrikaans university (Stellenbosch). Whilst attending an English school I naturally started giving peers and younger grades lessons as this was a subject that I excelled in and have a passion to share. This has given me a good base to become and Afrikaans tutor and make it as easy as possible for the student.

I was born in Pretoria and raised in and Afrikaans home. Although my schooling was done in English I still spoke Afrikaans at home. My marks in school were also always above 80% I believe I am well equipped to teach this subject.

Afrikaans is such a beautiful language and I aim to ensure my students realize the beauty of it. I have been giving Afrikaans tution for the past 5 years and the majority of my students have attained distinctions at matric level.

I speak, read and write this language fluently. I have 4 years experience in teaching this language to learners and have seen great improvements. I always ensure that the lessons are fun and exciting. This method of teaching ensures that the learner has an interest in the topic, understand it clearly and finds it easier to remember.

I am bilingual in English and Afrikaans thus, I am fully comfortable with the language that troubles many - Afrikaans. I received an A in matric for the subject and have a deep understanding of the language and ways in which to teach it.

I achieved an A at high school level in Afrikaans First Additional Language. I thoroughly enjoy working with the languages and I have tips and tricks that I have usee to help me. I also assisted fellow students with Afrikaans, while at high school.

I took Afrikaans as a subject until grade 12, and it was always a subject that I feel I understood quite naturally. This may be as a result of growing up with a grandmother who was Afrikaans, and therefore spoke Afrikaans to me as a child. Living, studying and working in the Western Cape, where Afrikaans is widely spoken, also improved my ability to both understand and speak Afrikaans.

I am completely fluent in both English and Afrikaans. I have received A’s for Afrikaans throughout my Schooling Career and have always helped people in my classes. Now with my teaching degree and me studying Afrikaans up to University level I have even more knowledge of the language and how to effectively teach it.
