Subjects taught
  • Mathematics

Maths was one of my favorite subjects at school, despite it being one of the more difficult ones. I also enjoyed my maths module during my first year at University. I hope to be able to explain maths concepts in a simple and clear way.

  • History

History was my favorite subject at school! Although I didn’t require history for my degree, I chose to take it as a subject as I found the skills to excel in history came naturally to me, and I found the content interesting. I feel that it is a subject that equips you with tools and skills, including essay writing and thinking critically, which can be used in many other subjects, as well as in everyday life going forward.

  • Afrikaans

I took Afrikaans as a subject until grade 12, and it was always a subject that I feel I understood quite naturally. This may be as a result of growing up with a grandmother who was Afrikaans, and therefore spoke Afrikaans to me as a child. Living, studying and working in the Western Cape, where Afrikaans is widely spoken, also improved my ability to both understand and speak Afrikaans.

  • Science

I took Science until Grade 12, and then studied both Physics and Chemistry in my first year of University. My undergraduate was a Bachelor of Science, and thus scientific concepts formed the basis of my degree. I feel I have a good understanding of the subject and am well equipped to teach the concepts in a simple and understandable manner.

  • Biology

I love Biology. I find learning about the environment as well as the human body fascinating. Biology formed the basis of my University majors - Physiology and Genetics - and I feel that I have a good understanding of biology concepts that will help me to explain them in an easy and simple manner.

  • English

I feel that I have a good understanding of the English language, as it is the language I have grown up speaking. I have always loved reading, which I feel has given me a good vocabulary, and allowed me to improve my own writing skills.
