In 2009, I made it to the final round of the South African Harmony Mathematics Olympiad and was placed in the Top 100 in South Africa. I have both a BSc degree and a MSc degree in electronic engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2017 and 2019 respectively so I have a wealth of Science knowledge. I achieved a distinction in Mathematics in my matric year. I was a mentor for HAWU and helped high school scholars who wanted to pursue a career in Science by tutoring Mathematics for Grade 10-12. I am a BSc Hons Graduate. I study microbiology, biochemistry with molecular biology, as well as botany. I have been tutoring life science from my university days. I have tutored biology (Life Science) to learners from Primary school to high school. I also offer a special academic writing assistance service to university students. I am also actively working in the field, as a free-lance plant physiologist. Currently, I am completing a post graduate certificate in science education. I am also available to tutor mathematics and physical science. I have been tutoring mathematics for 4 years, only to high school and primary school students. I have also tutored physical science to matric students for over 12 years. I believe that each learner must be treated as an individual. This leads me to create individual learning experiences for each of my learners. For this reason, I expect at least 4 hours of preparation time for each lesson to ensure that each learner receives the best learning opportunity possible. I am also a firm believer that every learner is capable of achieving good results. So I also observe different learners behaviour and learning styles to create a learning space that can maximise their strengths.

I can honestly say that I have always enjoyed Physical Science from a young age. The reasons I enjoyed it achieved 80% in matric is because everything can be broken down logically and applied to everyday life. Whether you work best by drawing pictures, needing practical examples or getting right down to the theory behind it, you can always make sense of any science problem by applying it to everyday life. I am an Electronic Engineer. My current work deals with the underlying concepts on a daily basis. I completed my degreeat the University of Pretoria. I also have a few years teaching experience (primary school, high school and univeristy level) as well as being an assistant lecturer at the university.

My marks for this subject were initially 39% and for my final year I managed to obtain a distinction. This is evidence that with great support anything is really possible. I was once struggle and therefore I fully understand what other students might be going through and with my experience I believe I can change that. I am doing my second year in university and still doing physical Sciences, it's not a foreign subject to me and I love learning and teaching it.

I try to make the subjects interesting by relating the subjects covered to real life examples. I also try to teach my students to think carefully about what they are learning, rather than just learning topics mechanically.
